| The Italian Association of COPD patients was founded on June 24, 2001 with the aim at improving health conditions and quality of life of COPD patients |
|
| The Associations is member of EFA-European Federation of Allergy and Airways Diseases Patients Associations and ICC-International COPC Coalition. |
| |
| The main objectives are: |
|
| To assemble patients with COPD or other chronic respiratory diseases and provide them with information, educational and cultural services and publications aimed at improving their health conditions; To increase awarness of social impact of these diseases; To promote information and prevention campaigns directed at the public-at-large about reducing the risks of developing COPD (tobacco smoke, pollution, life style, etc.); To promote initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life of COPD patients; To promote and support scientific research, and raise funds for Research Foundations and Institutes that are directly involved in this field; To collaborate with other Associations in Italy and abroad sharing the same goals. |
